Jaw Surgery FAQ

  1. Do I need this surgery? - Your orthodontist would best be able to tell you the answer to this. Some people can have their jaws properly aligned by ortho treatment alone while others with more severe imperfections would need surgery by an oral surgeon.
  2. How long is the process? - The first step in the process is to have braces. You will have them on for 5 months to about a year depending on your case. You would then have jaw surgery and braces for another year or so.
  3. How much does it cost? - Orthodontic treatment that is a surgical case will cost more. That is because they have two steps to perform. But the approximate cost should be in the $5,000 to $8,000 range in the US.
  4. What will I look like afterwards? - Check out any of the before and after pics from our website. Match yourself up to a before picture similar to yourself and see the after pic.
